Early July saw me working in the Search Press studios as part of the development my new book, ‘Sea and Sky in Acrylics’, which is due to be published in August 2015. The RNLI helped me in doing this by providing some photograph reference of the sea so, as a dedication to them, I will be including the above painting as part of the book. The photography for the book of three demonstrations and 20 – 30 illustrations is complete and I have now entered the “words phase” which will really be the “glue” for the whole book. This stage really gets my mind going into how the chapters will be presented and how the whole image of the book comes together, so whilst busy with commissions and teaching, I also have to find time for some “book contemplation” (along with my dear editor Sophie!) between now and January 2015.
A few of the images in the book can be found at this link, but we are discussing whether putting images of ships in a “Sea and Sky” book is appropriate!? What do you think?
